Draft Policies New and Recently Revised Policies 

Draft Policies

Pertinent draft policies are posted here to allow for feedback from the campus community. You are encouraged to review and send comments or questions regarding any of the draft policies by contacting the University Policy Manual editor.

• Revised Policy 2:3 - Course Syllabus
  • Revisions include an update to the ADA statement to align with SDBOR policy, the addition of an optional syllabus statement on student well-being, and a statement that syllabi need to include faculty expectations related to use of generative artificial intelligence.
• Revised Policy 2:4 - Student Code for Academic Misconduct and Academic Appeals
  • Revisions include updates to the section on plagiarism, including a new provision on self-plagiarism and other edits to align with the governing SDBOR Policy 2.9.2.
• Revised Policy 2:6 - Small Section Limitation
  • Revisions align with SDBOR Policy 2.4.4 and AAC guideline 2.4.4.A and clarify that there are no exemptions from the small section limitation based on instructional or delivery method and the allowed percentage of small sections.
• Revised Policy 2:8 - Student Opinion Surveys of Faculty Instruction
  • Revisions align with an update to AAC guideline 2.7.1.C that changes the schedule for course evaluation administration to every faculty, every course, every term, instead of varying based on faculty rank.
• Revised Policy 3:1 - Student Conduct Code
  • Revisions align with updates to governing SDBOR Policy 3.4.1.
• Revised Policy 3:10 - Student Organizations
  • Revisions align with updates to governing SDBOR Policy 3.8.1.
• Revised Policy 8:2 - Trainings Required for University- and Federally-Sponsored Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ
  • Policy was rewritten to establish the university's requirements for training in the responsible and ethical conduct of research for compliance with applicable federal laws, regulations and sponsor requirements governing research activities.
• New Policy - Alcohol Amnesty
  • Policy was formerly located within the Student Conduct Code but has been relocated to its own policy.
