Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ’s professor N. E. Hansen was a horticulturist and plant explorer. In 1924 he traveled to China, Korea and Japan in search of hardy fruits, especially apples, peaches and pears. He is pictured here in Seoul, South Korea. Hansen is standing to the right of both rickshaws holding a basket of fruit in one hand and an individual fruit in the other. The rickshaw to Hansen’s left is loaded with vegetables.
