Early Agricultural Scientists and Engineers of SDSU

The Homestead Act of 1862 led to a wave of settlers moving to the Dakota Territory in search of opportunity, and by the late 1870s, the region saw the founding of an agricultural college and the eventual statehood of South Dakota.

The South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum offers multiple traveling exhibits for rental. These exhibits are panel exhibits and can be easily set up and placed on display and can be configured in different ways to best fit your needs and space.
