Case Steam Engine Train
1915 J. I. Case Steam Engine 65 hp

The 65 hp Case was manufactured in 1915, serial number 33043. It spent its working life north of Watertown. It features optional equipment purchased with the original engine, including contractor's fuel bunkers and a fully-jacketed (northern) boiler.

Early Agricultural Scientists and Engineers of SDSU

The Homestead Act of 1862 led to a wave of settlers moving to the Dakota Territory in search of opportunity, and by the late 1870s, the region saw the founding of an agricultural college and the eventual statehood of South Dakota.
