For the second consecutive year, Ģ������Ƶ finished just short of winning the International Quarter-Scale Tractor Student Design Competition. The SDSU Quarter-Scale Tractor Team, competing as the Jackrabbit Tractor Company, finished in a tie with Kansas State for second place. North Carolina State defended its 2024 title, finishing 26 points ahead of its Midwest competitors scoring 2,316 points out of a possible 2,405. The 28th annual event was May 30-June 1 at the Expo Gardens Fairgrounds in Peoria, Illinois, with 23 teams competing from across the United States and Canada.

The Child and Family Resource Network at Ģ������Ƶ will hold four parenting classes throughout July to focus on helping parents discover what their children’s behaviors could mean.

Each winter, a special corner of Ģ������Ƶ’s campus comes alive with light and cheer. It feels like something straight out of a holiday film — twinkling lights, festive music, crisp winter air and families and friends coming together to celebrate. The magical scene is set at McCrory Gardens, where Garden Glow transforms the landscape into a winter wonderland, with thousands of sparkling lights illuminating the path.

The South Dakota Art Museum at Ģ������Ƶ will celebrate the immersive exhibition of huge blown glass ears of corn, “Primordial Shift: The Art of Michael Meilahn,” with a free public reception and panel discussion from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 27.

By the narrowest of margins — two points out of more than 2,000 — the SDSU Quarter Scale Tractor Team came up just short of winning its third consecutive national title. Competing at the 27th annual International Quarter-Scale Tractor Student Design Competition at the Expo Gardens Fairgrounds in Peoria, Illinois, the Ģ������Ƶ team placed third out of 21 teams.

The South Dakota Art Museum at Ģ������Ƶ will open its newest exhibition, “Termespheres: Without Beginning or End,” with a free public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Artist Dick Termes will speak at 6 p.m., discussing the spherical paintings in this exhibition, known as Termespheres, and his process for creating them.

The annual Ģ������Ƶ Celebration of Faculty Excellence recognized 30 faculty members, researchers and scientists Tuesday. The event honors faculty members in the university's colleges for outstanding research, teaching and service.

The South Dakota Art Museum at Ģ������Ƶ will open its newest exhibition, “Signe Stuart: Events in Time and Space,” with a free public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

After nearly two years of construction, the POET Bioproducts Center has officially opened its doors to the region's leading bioprocessing scientists. The new laboratory, located in the Ģ������Ƶ Park at Ģ������Ƶ, will bring researchers from SDSU and South Dakota Mines together with industry partners to scale up innovative biotechnologies and varying South Dakota's economy.
