Tim Lautzenheiser is a well-known name in the music education world as a teacher, clinician, author, composer, consultant, adjudicator and, above all, a trusted friend to anyone interested in working with young people in developing a desire for excellence. 

Lautzenheiser has been a part of the Bands of America family for over 25 years. He served as executive director in 1980-82 and has since worked directly with tens of thousands of Bands of America students and directors in leadership and motivational training. His career involves 10 years of successful college band directing at Northern Michigan University, the University of Missouri and New Mexico State University. During this time, Lautzenheiser developed highly acclaimed groups in all areas of the instrumental and vocal field. Following his three years with Bands of America, he created Attitude Concepts for Today, an organization designed to manage the many requests for workshops, seminars and convention speaking engagements focusing on the area of positive attitude and effective leadership training. He presently holds the Earl Dunn Distinguished Lecturer position at Ball State University. Lautzenheiser also is the director of education for Conn-Selmer, and he serves as the national spokesperson for National Association for Music Education's Make a Difference with Music program.

Lautzenheiser is a graduate of Ball State University and the University of Alabama. He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from VanderCook College of Music. Additional awards include the distinguished Sudler Order of Merit from the John Philip Sousa Foundation, Mr. Holland’s Opus Award and the Music Industry Award from the Midwest Clinic Board of Directors.

Theresa Hoover is a music educator, speaker and writer who advocates for student voice in the music room. Her work centers on helping teachers empower students throughout their musical experiences by transforming classrooms into student-centered learning environments.

Currently, Hoover serves as a teaching professor of music education at East Carolina University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate music education courses. Her teaching experience spans instrumental, general and vocal music across a variety of settings in Northern Virginia and Pennsylvania.

A recognized presenter and clinician, Hoover has presented at local, regional and national conferences, including the Midwest Clinic, the National Association for Music Education Conference and numerous state music education conferences. She also serves as an adjunct professor at VanderCook College of Music, where she teaches graduate courses for music educators focused on technology integration and student ownership.

Since its founding in 2016, “~Nois continues to legitimize the saxophone quartet as a premier ensemble formation for classical music” (Brutal New Music) through commissioning repertoire that is thought-provoking, engaging and, honestly, just really good, by some of today's most inspiring compositional voices. Hailed as “technically superb and musically brilliant” (Cleveland Classical) and renowned for their “supremely sensitive balance and control” (Chicago Classical Review), the ensemble has also been awarded top prizes at numerous prestigious chamber music competitions, including the M-Prize International Arts Competition and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

Alicia W. Walker is a professor of music and director of choral studies at the University of South Carolina, where she directs the Concert Choir and the Garnet Chorale and supervises the graduate conducting program. Walker travels regularly to South Africa to teach continuing education for choral directors, and she is frequently invited to conduct and teach in the United Kingdom and in Taiwan. Walker has conducted at major venues including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, and Southwark and Canterbury cathedrals in England. Her choirs have been selected to perform for a National Collegiate Choral Organization, South Carolina Music Educators Association and for South Carolina’s American Choral Directors Association conference.

An experienced music educator, Walker taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels, followed by appointments at the University of Georgia and the University of South Carolina, where she supervised secondary choral music education. She is a past president of Southern Region ACDA and Georgia ACDA, and she developed ChorTransform, ACDA’s service-learning initiative for student chapters. She is the program chair for the 2024 Southern Region ACDA conference.

Andrea Ramsey enjoys an international presence as a composer, conductor, scholar and music educator. Her teaching experiences range from work with adolescent and children’s voices to high school and collegiate voices. She enjoys regular opportunities to conduct all-state and divisional level honor choirs, festival events at Carnegie Hall and served as a principal conductor for the Pacific International Young Women’s Choral Festival in Eugene, Oregon, and conducted the National American Choral Directors Association Junior High and Middle School Honor Choir in 2023.

An award-winning composer with nearly 200 works to date, Ramsey previously held positions in music education and conducting at Ohio State University and the University of Colorado, respectively. She believes strongly in the creation of new works, and her compositions are available with traditional publishers and through MusicSpoke, a digital sheet music marketplace. She regularly enjoys residencies and collaborations with ensembles and festival choirs across North America and abroad.

As a scholar, she has presented for state, divisional and national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association, the Sixth Annual Symposium on Sociology in Music Education, as well as The Phenomenon Singing Symposium in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada. Additionally, she has co-authored articles published in the Choral Journal, as well as the Journal of Ģ������Ƶ in Music Education.
