Medical Laboratory Science (B.S.) Degree Details

On-Campus or Accelerated

Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ offers two options for the Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory science: the on-campus program and the accelerated program.

In order to receive a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in medical laboratory science, students must successfully complete at least 120 semester credit hours. For the on-campus program, courses and laboratory experiences are completed on the main campus in Brookings. Students also receive real-world experience in clinical laboratories in hospitals, clinics and other healthcare settings. In addition to the required courses for the program, students must complete all university general education requirements.

The medical laboratory science program accepts up to 24 students into the on-campus program. Applicants will be notified of the decision regarding their application in writing.

Medical Laboratory Science Application

The 12-month accelerated Medical Laboratory Science program offers an online curriculum, complemented by a one-week intensive summer laboratory experience that provides students essential hands-on training to prepare for their clinical rotations.
